Black & Gold

Black lips are no longer just a Halloween sort of thing; people are starting to wear it on a daily basis. (If you have the confidence.) I actually think it can be kind of a beautiful look; some disagree but I still think there is a sort of unqiue beauty about it.

There are so many makeup brands around now, such as LimeCrime which does the black velvetine lip stain and although I ADORE LimeCrime I wanted to see if I could create this look in the cheapest way possible.

Unless you love the black lipstick look or are a makeup artist, you are unlikely to go out and buy it; so a cheaper version is use black eyeliner with a lip brush.

I wanted to add a sort of 'magical' or editorial fashion look, so I decided to add some gold glitter. I didn't want to use my best glitter which I had as I wanted to try and keep it to the cheapest, tidiest way possible. So I just took a gold eyeshadow which I liked.

Here is how to create this look.

1) Take some of your eyeliner product with your lip brush and put it on the back of your hand.

2) Start filling in your lips with the eyeliner, just like you would with a normal lipstick. Follow the natural line of your lips, don't overdraw unless you want to.

3) Take a synthetic brush and choose a gold eyeshadow and pat into your lips.

4) Neaten up your lipliner with some concealer.

As simple as that!
